Archie receives a special gift from his family in South America and is hoping for a big box of chocolate. What he finds inside is not quite what he expects but maybe there is a way Rosie and her friends can make his wish come true.

ARCHIE is excited to receive a special delivery!  A big cardboard box all the way from South America.  ARCHIE says it’s a special gift of the freshest, most delicious chocolate.  Word spreads about Archie’s delivery and everyone gathers on Oakley’s Hill for the grand opening of the box.

 

Excitement mounts as ARCHIE opens the box to reveal… odd, dry pods!  WILL is disappointed.  ARCHIE explains they’re cocoa pods.  ROSIE rummages in the box and unfolds some instructions - how to make chocolate. ARCHIE feels terrible about disappointing his friends and slips away quietly.

 

ROSIE looks at the instructions with HOLLY to see how they can turn the pods into chocolate… First they must be split open, then dried, roasted, and pressed to produce the runny cocoa.   The pods are very tough so the beavers help split them open. WILL rigs up a drying frame and the birds flap hard to circulate the beans.  BIG BEAR roasts the beans in his oven and HOLLY helps squeeze them through a sieve to produce runny cocoa.
