When Big Bear hurts his arm, his friends offer to do his chores for him but when Holly mixes up his fruit tarts and the birds make a mess of his washing, he declares it's "just not the way a bear would do it..."

BIG BEAR is busy dashing around planting seeds, washing his jumpers and baking.  Suddenly he slips and falls, bruising his arm.  ROSIE makes a sling for him and tells him not worry… they can all help with the chores.  Meanwhile, WILL is about to wash the Go Speeder and unveils a big washing machine he’s invented.  It’s like a big wet/dry vacuum cleaner on wheels.

 

HOLLY is making fruit tarts but BIG BEAR politely says he wouldn’t mix the fruit up - it’s not the way a bear would do it.  ROSIE is planting seeds but BIG BEAR points out he usually plants them in a different direction – it’s not the way a bear would do it.  Finally, BIG BEAR checks on the birds who are washing his jumpers.  There are quite a few things that a bear would do differently!  WILL offers to clean Big Bear’s jumpers in his machine.  It will wash them exactly how a bear would do it!  The machine starts off well but by the time the jumpers come out, they’ve all shrunk in the hot water.  

 

SAFFIE tells BIG BEAR he should let the others be who they want to be – they can’t be him.  When BIG BEAR returns to find his friends wearing his shrunken jumpers and redoing all the chores, he tells them they can help in any way they want to.  They may not do things exactly how a bear would do it, but sometimes their ways are even better!
